A stellar start to the Year of the Horse! CSSC Sisyphe has recently secured an order from the French Sogestran Group for electric propulsion systems for two plus one oil and chemical product vessels.
In the Year of the Horse, 2026—the Year of Bingwu—marks the beginning of a new chapter. CSSC Sisim Energy has smoothly kicked off the new year’s development by securing a series of new orders for electric propulsion systems. Recently, CSSC Sisim Energy once again teamed up with Dingheng Shipyard to provide electric propulsion systems for two plus one 4,300 DWT oil and chemical tankers under the French Sogestran Group. These vessels were ordered by Petroineos, a client of Maritima—a subsidiary of the French Sogestran Group—and will be built by Yangzhou Dingheng Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., part of China Merchants Industry Holdings Group. 
The two+one oil and chemical tankers resulting from this collaboration will be equipped with the S-DE diesel-electric propulsion system developed by CSSC Sisim. This system features three 950-kW generator sets, two 1,000-kW azimuth thrusters, and one 450-kW bow side thruster. Powered by CSSC Sisim’s proprietary variable-frequency electric control equipment, the system enables grid integration and allows for flexible adjustment of energy consumption based on the vessel’s actual operational needs, striking a balance between operational efficiency and energy conservation.
CSSC Sisui and Dingheng Shipyard boast a deep-rooted history of collaboration. Their partnership officially began in 2020 with Sisui’s first overseas project—the Swedish Terntank 15,000 DWT chemical tanker (7 vessels). Since then, the two parties have steadily worked together to complete several key domestic and international ship配套 projects, including the Xingtong Kaihe 7,490 DWT chemical tanker, the Rubis Asphalt 17,999 DWT asphalt tanker (1+1 vessel), and the SOCATRA 7,850 DWT asphalt tanker (3+3 vessels).
