Another New Order! CSSC Saisiyi Secures Contract to Provide Escort Services for APEC 2026 with Its New Energy Tour Boats!
Recently, CSSC Saisiyi successfully secured contracts for two 35-meter new-energy sightseeing cruise vessels, further expanding its footprint in the new-energy marine sector within the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macau Greater Bay Area. The vessels are being invested in by Qianhai Shekou Qidi Industrial Co., Ltd. of Shenzhen, built by Guangdong Haihuang Technology Co., Ltd., and designed by the renowned Dutch design firm CoCo Yachts B.V.
The two sightseeing cruise vessels signed in this agreement each measure 35 meters in length and 9.6 meters in breadth, and are powered by CSSC Saisiyi’s S-Renewable new-energy propulsion system. The system is equipped with two 1,309.4 kWh lithium-battery packs, for a total ship-wide lithium-battery capacity of 2,618.8 kWh, which are efficiently integrated into the grid via Saisiyi’s proprietary centralized DC-bus variable-frequency electric control equipment to drive two 245 kW main propulsion motors. In addition, this electric control system provides two 150 kVA high-quality AC power supplies for daily onboard loads, fully meeting the vessel’s routine power requirements.
The shipboard battery system utilizes Saesiy’s next-generation, in-house–developed marine battery modules, which are meticulously tailored to meet the specific operational requirements of maritime applications. The energy capacity of each individual battery pack has been upgraded to approximately 22 kWh, resulting in a substantial improvement in overall range and reliability.
Upon delivery, this fleet of tour boats will officially serve the 2026 APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting in Shenzhen, providing high-quality water transportation support for this international event through a green, low-carbon, safe, and efficient new-energy propulsion system.
This collaboration marks not the first time that CSSC Saisiyi’s new-energy marine propulsion systems have supported a major national event. During the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games, the new-energy themed tour boats “Jianglu,” “Jiangcui,” “Jiangwei,” and “Jiangxue”—all powered by Saisiyi systems—made their debut on the Qiantang River, providing high-quality water-based transportation services to guests from home and abroad.
During the 15th National Games and the Special Olympics and Paralympics in 2025, the “Starship Navigator—National Games” made its successful maiden voyage on the Pearl River, providing flagship-level green transportation capacity to support the events. In the 2026 Spring Festival, the vessel also hosted diplomatic envoys from various countries’ embassies in Guangzhou, who enjoyed the Bai’e Tan fireworks display and drone show, thereby showcasing the robust capabilities of China’s new-energy vessels.
From the Qiantang River to the Pearl River Estuary and now in preparation for the upcoming APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting in Shenzhen, CSSC Saisiyi has consistently provided reliable new-energy propulsion technology to ensure the smooth operation of major national events.
